Building a More Sustainable Future

Sustainability is a core part of how we operate at Professional Beauty Systems. We are making commitments today that will benefit future generations. Our journey to reducing our environmental impact focuses on three key areas: reducing energy consumption through efficient processes and low-carbon technologies, conserving water through responsible resource management, and minimising waste through smarter manufacturing, packaging optimisation and recycling initiatives.
By focusing on these areas, we continue to develop and manufacture high-quality products that are kinder to the environment and support a more sustainable future.

Our manufacturing vessels utilise Clean-In-Place (CIP) technology, an efficient cleaning system that reduces water consumption, minimises waste, and improves operational efficiency.

By cleaning equipment without unnecessary disassembly, CIP helps us conserve valuable resources while reducing production downtime.

Water Conservation

As part of our commitment to reducing emissions, we have invested in air source heat pump technology.

This low-carbon heating system captures energy from the outside air and converts it into heating and hot water for our facility, helping reduce reliance on traditional fossil fuel-based heating systems.

Lower Carbon Heating

We recognise the important role packaging plays in our environmental footprint.

We continually review our packaging materials and processes to identify opportunities to reduce waste, minimise unnecessary material use, and utilise environmentally responsible alternatives wherever possible.

Our goal is to create packaging solutions that balance product protection, customer experience, and environmental responsibility.

Sustainable Packaging

Sustainable Manufacturing

Innovation is central to our sustainability journey. By using cold-process manufacturing methods wherever possible during product development, scale-up, and production, we can:

  • Reduce energy consumption

  • Lower our environmental impact

  • Preserve ingredient integrity

  • Improve manufacturing efficiency

These practices enable us to create high-quality products while reducing the resources required to manufacture them.

Making a Difference

Small changes can deliver significant results. Recent initiatives have included standardising pallet wrapping processes, a change that is expected to save almost 50,000 metres of plastic wrap each year.

The Eco Committee also participates in regular community litter-picking activities, helping to create a cleaner and greener local environment.

These actions demonstrate how practical improvements, large and small, contribute to our wider sustainability goals.

Our Eco Committee is a dedicated team of volunteers from across the business who champion sustainability initiatives and drive continuous improvement throughout PBS.

The committee works to:

Identify opportunities to reduce energy, water, and waste

Promote environmental awareness across the business

Support community-based sustainability activities

Help deliver our long-term environmental objectives

By embedding sustainability into everyday decision-making, the Eco Committee plays a vital role in helping PBS achieve meaningful environmental progress.

Our Commitment

Together with our employees, customers, and suppliers, we are committed to making responsible choices that help protect the environment while supporting the continued growth of PBS.
